Kim Richards is "enjoying life so much" now that she is sober.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star visited a rehabilitation centre in December to treat alcohol abuse and other "serious issues".

She has been free of booze for a few months now and has embraced her new lifestyle.

"I love life. I've just been enjoying it so much," Kim told Us Weekly Thursday at THR Nominees Night pre-Oscar party at Getty House in Los Angeles.

"It was a rough road to get here, but I'm really, really good. I'm really taking the time for myself."

It was rumoured that Kim might be leaving her show at the behest of her four children. They were reportedly embarrassed by seeing their mother inebriated on TV.

Now that she is fully sober, Kim isn't planning on saying goodbye to the programme anytime soon.

"[My experience] doesn't make me want to walk away from anything," she explained. "It makes me want to step out in front of everything and just say, 'You know what, anybody can do it.' I don't want to walk away from anything in my life. It's part of life: facing it!"

Kim appreciates the support she has received from her loved ones throughout this difficult period in her life.

"I was definitely tired of the way my life was and I wanted to get better," Kim revealed. "My family and friends--without them I just couldn't do it. My fans have been so supportive... People walk up to me and they just hug me and cry. That's so rewarding to me."
