Kim 'to emulate royal wedding'
Kim Kardashian’s brief for her wedding to Kanye West is believed to be “demure princess”.
The reality star is engaged to rapper Kanye West, with the pair confirming they plan to tie the knot next summer. While initial speculation suggested Kim wanted a low-key ceremony for her third venture into marriage, it has now been claimed she is pushing the boat out.
The 33-year-old brunette is believed to have felt inspired by Catherine’s nuptials to Prince William in 2011.
“Kim is absolutely obsessed with everything Kate and William do. She considers her own family ‘American royalty’. Kim loves Kate’s style and while she is planning on several gowns for her big day, she wants the one for the ceremony to look something like Kate’s dress,” a source told British magazine Grazia. “The brief is ‘demure princess’ and she’ll also wear a tiara.”
Kim has apparently approached Alexander McQueen’s creative director Sarah Burton – who was responsible for designing Catherine’s wedding gown.
She is also believed to have expressed an interest in having a horse-drawn carriage just like William and Catherine rode in when they left Westminster Abbey.
Kim made no secret of her admiration for the royal couple when she visited the UK last year.
“We hope to bump into Kate and William. She is so stunning and he’s such a class act,” she gushed.
Last week it was claimed Kim and Kanye were interested in tying the knot at the Palace of Versailles in France. It seems this would offer a great backdrop for their elaborate plans.
“The Palace of Versailles would be the perfect regal venue. They rent it out for events and it even has its own opera house,” a source revealed. “They think it would be really cool to have gold thrones to sit on during the reception. They’ve already got a Buckingham Palace-themed room at their new home, which they’re using as inspiration!
“There is no budget for this wedding. The bigger the better.”
It was recently reported that Kanye has suggested hiring elephants for him and his new bride to ride on, and is considering having fire-eaters and acrobats at the nuptials.
