Kim 'wants VB friendship'
Kim Kardashian reportedly wants her and her fiancé Kanye West to bond with David and Victoria Beckham.
The reality TV star attended the recent Met Ball in New York City alongside her fiancé Kanye West. Victoria and her husband David were also there, with Kim apparently seeing it as the perfect opportunity to bond with the fashion designer.
"Kim was desperate to strike up a conversation with Vic. She asked her to suggest designs for her wedding dress and is a bit obsessed with her and Kanye becoming mates with Vic and Dave," an insider told British magazine Heat. "She wondered over while Vic was chatting to Donatella Versace inside, but she did a U-turn at the last minute because they turned their backs on her. It was really embarrassing - she sulked in the corner and was furious when Kanye later chatted to David for ten minutes without introducing her."
Kim was praised for the deep blue Lanvin gown she wore to the event. Her and her rapper beau were the toast of the gala as it came so soon after they appeared on the cover of US Vogue, which is edited by the ball's organiser Anna Wintour.
It's claimed this is another reason why Victoria wasn't keen on spending time with Kim. The designer is said to be desperate to appear on the main page of the American publication and can't understand why the reality TV star beat her to it.
The annual Met Ball is known as the Oscars of the fashion calendar, with Victoria choosing to spend the evening talking to other designers and wooing Anna in an attempt to grow her brand.
"Kim had asked for a meeting with Victoria's people on the Sunday before the Mat Ball to discuss honeymoon outfits and working together in the future with the VB brand, but Posh's people made an excuse," the source claimed.
Anna was widely criticised for placing Kim and Kanye on the cover of Vogue, but has stuck by her decision. However, it seems they aren't best friends just yet as the editor is said to have turned down an invitation to the power couple's upcoming wedding.
They are due to tie the knot on May 24, with new claims the nuptials won't take place in Paris as was initially thought. Entertainment Tonight reports guests will enjoy a dinner in the French capital on May 23 and then be flown by private jet to Florence, Italy, which is where the couple will exchange vows.
