Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberly has shown off her baby for the first time - and revealed the tot is taking after her Hollywood star father Benicio Del Toro.

She gave birth to Delilah in August with former flame Del Toro at her side, despite the pair splitting shortly after she became pregnant.

In an interview with Hello! magazine, Kimberly said the Oscar-winning star was an attentive father.

"The whole family, including Benicio, was at the hospital and my mom and Benicio were in the delivery room with me," she said. "Benicio's very involved; he and Delilah have a very special bond."

The youngster - whose full name is Delilah Genoveva Stewart Del Toro - can thank one of Rod's chart contemporaries for her name.

"I named her after the Tom Jones song, as I'd always loved that," said Kimberly. "She definitely looks like her dad, but she has my legs and eye colour."

Kimberly said Rod, as well as her mother Alana Hamilton-Stewart, step-mother Penny Lancaster, and Rod's former wife Rachel Hunter have given her a wealth of childcare tips.

"There are lots of kids in my family - no-one's short of advice," she said.

Kimberly said she wanted her child to be brought up with Aiden, Rod and Penny's eight-month-old son.

"Since they are only six months apart, I am counting on them being best friends," she said. "Dad handles children great - he's had a lot of experience."
