Kimye 'to have three weddings'
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are thought to be planning three wedding ceremonies.
The celebrity power couple are set to tie the knot on May 24 in a lavish Parisian ceremony, but because of strict French laws they may also be having a civil service before they get there.
Reports have surfaced that their lawyers have advised them that this would be the best course of action, in order to avoid lengthy legal restraints.
“Typically, the US recognises citizens getting married in France, but dealing with a foreign government and paperwork could be a nightmare,” an insider explained to RadarOnline. “So just to make sure it’s legal, Kim and Kanye will first be having a civil ceremony in Southern California.”
From there the happy couple will jet off to France for their dream wedding.
Much has been reported about the upcoming nuptials, with reports surfacing that they were rejected by the Palace of Versailles. They have since been spotted scouting Louis XIV-commissioned Chateau de Louveciennes as their venue. But French law dictates that two ceremonies will need to held in the European country.
“A religious ceremony has to be performed after a civil ceremony, never before,” the French Embassy in Washington DC explained to the website. “The minister, priest or rabbi will require a certificate of civil marriage before any religious ceremony takes place.”
For her big day, which will mark Kim's third marriage, the keeping Up with the Kardashian star is expected to change her dress multiple times.
“Kim will have at least three dress changes on the big ceremony day in France. It will be over the top. Kim and Kanye want it to be the wedding of the century," another source said.
