Kingston denies drunk driving
Sean Kingston insists he was joking when he claimed to be drunk and got behind the wheel after clubbing.
The singer was suspected of getting behind the wheel of an automobile while under the influence of alcohol on Tuesday night.
But the star claims he wasn’t tipsy when he drove his Lamborghini down Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, following a night out and told TMZ he had consumed "too much drinks".
"For the record @TMZ I’m not 1 of these artist who u may think is living youngwild and free in Hollywood i care about my reputation and brand," he wrote on Twitter.
"It was obviously a joke everyone that know me or been around knows that I don’t even drink in clubs..So can we stop with this."
The 23-year-old was also reported to have been texting during the ride which is illegal in the state of California.
He had come from David Arquette’s nightclub Bootsy Bellows in West Hollywood when he was allegedly inebriated.
Back in June, Sean was caught leaving the city’s Playhouse venue seemingly intoxicated.
He ditched the driver’s seat of his Bentley when he became aware the website was filming his antics.
"This is what TMZ wants to catch - they want to catch a DUI!" he joked on camera. "Not me!"
Justin Bieber’s Eenie Meenie collaborator enjoys being seen in flashy motorcars.
Last year he was spotted using the pop star’s chrome plated Fisker Karma to drive to a BOA Steakhouse branch in LA.
He quipped Justin had given him the $100,000 sports car – which wasn’t actually true.
It emerged Sean asked Justin if he could borrow the car to go to dinner since he was on tour and Justin obliged.
“When you’re best friends with one of the biggest stars on the planet you get nice gifts,” he told TMZ at the time.
