Kirstie Alley: I know John Travolta isn't gay

Kirstie Alley

Kirstie Alley has slammed rumours her "greatest love" John Travolta is gay.

The 61-year-old actress opened up about her love life in an interview with US news anchor Barbara Walters on Wednesday.

She previously admitted having fallen for the actor while they filmed 1989 movie Look Who's Talking, calling him her "greatest love".

John, who was already married to Kelly Preston during filming, has for months fought off allegations about his sexuality.

But Kirstie says reports he is gay are completely unfounded.

"I know John with all my heart and soul; he's not gay," she said, adding, "I think in some weird way, in Hollywood, if someone gets big enough and famous enough, and they're not out doing drugs and they're not womanising, what do you say about them?"

Robert Randolph was among a group of men who came forward with salacious claims about the actor.

The writer explosively claimed John frequented bathhouses in his book You'll Never Spa in This Town Again.

He sued the actor and his attorney, Marty Singer, alleging they "falsely claimed Randolph had mental issues and spent time in a mental institution".

The case was dismissed by a judge in September.
