Heidi Klum looked dazzling as she made her first red carpet appearance since her split from husband Seal last month, while Lindsay Lohan covered up at the same star-studded charity event.

Project Runway host Heidi put on a brave smile and was still wearing her gold wedding band on her ring finger as she attended the amfAR Gala in support of Aids research at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. Last month Heidi and Seal, who have four children together, announced they were splitting after seven years.

Li-Lo was also among the guests at the Fashion Week charity event, sporting a conservative white dress by Tom Ford.

Awards were presented to people for their work on Aids and a tribute was paid to the late Elizabeth Taylor, who had been an active member of the organisation.

Other guests included Sarah Jessica Parker, Elizabeth Hurley with Aussie fiance Shane Warne, Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester, Julianne Moore and Jennifer Hudson.

Liz Hurley and Cindy Crawford appeared to be in the battle of the cleavage when they both took to the stage to speak together, wearing equally plunging necklines.

Jennifer Hudson also flaunted plenty of cleavage in a floor length gown with a daring split to the thigh.
