Kourtney K talks attachment parenting

Kourtney Kardashian reveals it can be a challenge to get alone time with partner Scott Disick.

The reality star is mum to Mason, 4 and Penelope, 19 months, with partner Scott Disick.

And she has revealed in a new interview that she lets both children sleep in bed with the couple on a regular basis.

“It's what came naturally to me; I didn't plan it," she says in the April issue of Redbook magazine. "When I had Mason, I just felt really attached to him and wanted to bring him everywhere. He ended up sleeping with me, and I breastfed for 14 months."

The 34-year-old added that the children usually start in their own beds but can often end up in hers “within minutes”.

This can make it difficult for the couple to get alone time, and Kourtney admits it’s something they discuss regularly.

“Mostly there are times each night when the kids are in their own rooms, and sometimes it even lasts all night. Every night is different,” she explained.

Kourtney isn’t the only parent in her family, as sister Kim has a nine-month-old daughter, North West.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is also one of four plus two half-sisters and admits attachment parenting wasn’t part of her own upbringing.

“I have no idea where it came from because I definitely didn't sleep with my parents unless I was sick or something," she explained. "I wasn't reading attachment parenting books before; it's just what came naturally to me. "I'm sure all the family thinks I'm insane for having them in the bed and breastfeeding for a long time, but whatever."
