Kris Jenner 'dismisses counselling'
Kris Jenner is reportedly refusing to go to marriage counselling because she is happy with her relationship.
The reality TV star has been married to former Olympian Bruce Jenner for 22 years. It was recently reported that Bruce had been “run out” of their Calabasas family home after Kris’ daughter Kim Kardashian moved in with her new baby Nori. It has now been alleged that Bruce’s decision to stay in a Malibu beach house was also spurred on by Kris’ reluctance to try couples therapy.
“[Bruce] wanted to go to marriage counselling with Kris several months ago... Bruce and Kris have become more like roommates, and there is just no romance in the relationship,” a source told Radar. “Kris refused to go because she didn’t think anything was wrong and was happy with the status quo. She felt that it would just be a waste of time. This was one of the main reasons why Bruce got his own rental house in Malibu. If she didn’t want to work at the relationship, why should Bruce.”
Kris recently responded to rumours about where Bruce was staying.
She confirmed that her husband was renting a house, but insisted he came home to her every night.
“We got a place out at the beach for him to get away,” she said last week. “It does get a little congested in that house… It’s been 23 years and it’s amazing to have a little bit of space so it’s kind of fun.”
It was reported that Bruce has decided to spend the rest of the summer in the rented property after he was warned not to fly his beloved remote controlled helicopters outside the family home with his friends for fear of disturbing Kim’s baby.
While it seems Kris has no plans to see a therapist with Bruce, in a new episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians aired in the US on Sunday she did urge her son Rob Kardashian to seek professional help.
Rob has seemingly been struggling with depression after gaining a lot of weight and displaying odd behaviour. He even came close to being arrested after a female photographer accused him of battery earlier this year.
In the episode Kris visited a counsellor about Rob, admitting she was “scared” for her son and feared she wasn’t being a good enough mom.
She then confronted Rob about his mood swings, saying: “I think you can really benefit from talking to somebody… You spend a lot of time in your room and that is a sign to me of somebody who’s not extremely happy and maybe a little bit depressed.”
However, Rob insisted he didn’t need to speak to anyone and promised he would turn his life around soon.
