Kris Jenner has warned her kids not to use the internet, as there are lots of "nasty" 14-year-olds on Twitter.

The reality TV star appears on Keeping Up with the Kardashians alongside her daughters Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian and younger kids Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

By living their life in front of the cameras, the family make themselves very open to criticism.

However, Kris insists that mean people on Twitter are often just after a piece of the limelight.

"Well, there's more love than hate," she reasoned to British magazine Star.

"There are a lot of people who are 14 years old, who sit on the computer and say really nasty things because they think it's funny. But every time I've ever tried to engage a hater, they've asked me for a job within 15 minutes. Anybody who is hating on you usually turns out to be a huge fan, and is watching you for a reason and doesn't miss an episode. I have taught my kids: just don't go on the internet. You know, you don't need that negative energy in your life."

Last year it was announced Kris had split from her husband Bruce, who she married in 1991.

She admits that her hectic life could be a turn-off for potential partners.

"What, like when I ask a guy, 'Come on over, there are 12 cameras!'?" she laughed.

"I don't know. I mean, my plate is really full and I just have a lot going on, so it's not even a thought on my mind right now. But you never know. I'm one of those people who always likes to look at the glass half full. We'll find out when it happens. It's uncharted territory!"
