Kristen Stewart: Animal role would be tough

Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart has joked she would consider playing an animal in a movie although it would be "a stretch".

The actress appeared on US television series The Late Late Show where she discussed the dance scene from her movie On the Road.

Filming it was one of the most nerve wracking moments in her career so far, and she jested that she appreciates she hasn't faced any real danger through her movie roles as yet.

"That was the most terrifying experience of my life, but it was fun though. No I've never met a tiger, that would be pretty terrifying," Kristen joked to host Craig Ferguson. "I guess I'd do a movie with animals... it would be a stretch for me. I don't know if I could play an animal."

On the Road is a film adaptation of the novel by American writer Jack Kerouac which follows the travels of the writer and his friends across America in the post war era.

Kristen stars as the lead female protagonist Mary Lou, alongside Garrett Hedlund who plays Dean Moriarty. Kristen described how the intense dance scene between the two characters was brought to life.

"The dancing in the book is this one little line. We had nothing to work from other than they fall into a love dance and draw each other in, so we were like, 'What do we do with this?'" Kristen explained.

"It was a very involved scene. We rehearsed a lot. The thing with this movie was we had to intend to be spontaneous. We were like, 'How do we do this without looking ridiculous?'"

Kristen explained how else she prepared for her role. She's experienced life on the road before, when she had a failed attempt at driving across America.

"Yep, [I've road tripped across America before] although I didn't get all the way. I got as far as Ohio then turned around. Logistically speaking I could have got a plane back, but I won't tell you about the details in my life at the time that made that impossible..." Kristen teased. "It would be boring."

This isn't a good time to make travel plans. Weather conditions and work responsibilities have a way of wreaking havoc with your schedule. Wait another few days before putting down a hefty deposit. Working behind the scenes will yield significant rewards. If someone asks you to serve as their assistant, go ahead and accept. The pay will be excellent and there will be a lot of fringe benefits, too. Don't talk about a neighbour's private life in mixed company.More
