Kristen Stewart to appear on Planned Parenthood benefit album
Kristen Stewart believes she's now a part of history due to Donald Trump's Twitter rant about her personal life.
Kristen Stewart has agreed to appear on an album raising funds for Planned Parenthood because of her fears about U.S. President Donald Trump.
Bosses at the family planning charity are at odds with the Trump administration because they offer abortion services to women, with the president threatening to cut Planned Parenthood’s government funding unless the service is discontinued.
America's new leader's controversial policies have inspired Kristen to get more involved in activism and she revealed to The Guardian that she has contributed to an album benefiting the organisation.
"Obviously that's (contributing to the benefit album) all because of the person who I'm not even going to name (Trump)," the 26-year-old said. "Because the truth is, he's terrifying. He's not funny at all."
The bisexual actress also believes that anger over Trump's presidency, which has already sparked protests across America and the world, will lead to a surge in artistic creativity.
"If there is one silver lining in all of this, it's that I know that art, music and film is going to experience a boom, directly as a reaction to what's happened in this country," she explained. "Maybe we're seeing that already; we probably are."
Kristen has had her own personal run-in with America's leader, as in 2012 he weighed in on her high profile split from Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson.
Their break-up came after she was pictured getting close to married director Rupert Sanders, and Trump, then merely a billionaire reality TV star, accused Kristen of cheating on her ex "like a dog" on Twitter.
In a bizarre series of tweets he kept telling Robert to avoid getting back with her and even invited the actor to his Miss Universe beauty pageant.
Of her strange connection to America's leader she said: "So it's probably the most fascinating, bizarre thing to have ever happened to me. To be personally called out by the future president. It's like I've become a piece of history."
A release date for the benefit album Kristen will appear on is yet to be announced. Other stars who have expressed support for Planned Parenthood include Scarlett Johansson, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Lawrence.
