Kristen’s mom denies girlfriend remarks
Kristen Stewart’s mother Jules has come forward to insist she never spoke about her daughter’s rumoured lesbian relationship with Alicia Cargile.
It was reported on Sunday that the actress’ 55-year-old matriarch had given her daughter her blessing when it comes to her reported romance with her personal assistant Alicia Cargile.
However, Jules has now come forward to deny ever making any comments about her child’s personal life.
“I spoke to Sharon Feinstein about my film K-11 that has been put on display in the Hollywood Museum,” Jules told Us Weekly. “It’s currently there under the LGBT banner on the third floor. She also asked me about my views on gay rights, which I was happy to express. Then we talked briefly about the fundraiser I am hosting for TheWolfConnection.org. Never ever did we discuss Kristen!”
Jules says the only thing she was asked about Alicia was whether or not she knew her, to which she responded by saying: “Yes, she’s a lovely girl.”
Earlier this year it was reported that 25-year-old Kristen’s relationship with Alicia had turned romantic.
Jules’ alleged quotes about Kristen and Alicia appeared in UK newspaper the Sunday Mirror this weekend.
“What’s not to be accepting about her now having a girlfriend? She’s happy,” she was quoted as saying.
“She’s my daughter, I’m just her mom so she knows I would accept her choices.
“I’ve met Kristen’s new girlfriend, I like her. What’s not to accept? She’s a lovely girl.”
Kristen’s mother was also reported to have spoken about her views towards same sex relationships.
“I feel like people need to be free to love whoever they want,” she was said to have added. “I accept my daughter loves women and men. It’s OK to be who you are in my world. We all choose our friends so we should be free to choose our lovers.
“People are good to do whatever they like as long as they’re not hurting people or breaking the law.
“I have gay friends, family members, I’m accepting of people, we are all free to choose who we want to love.”
