Kylie Jenner's pop-up shop brings hysteria to LA mall
The makeup and TV icon capped a fantastic year with her first store.
Kylie Jenner brought retail madness and thousands of fans to LA's Westfield Topanga mall on Friday (09Dec16) when she opened her first ever pop-up shop.
The 19-year-old took to Snapchat, sharing an image of the ground floor of the mall packed with fans who began lining up for the store opening on Thursday evening (08Dec16).
“The empire it's all for you ❤️ See you soon x #TheKylieShop,” she wrote, adding a heart and three crowns to her post, ahead of her arrival at the mall with boyfriend Tyga. Kylie arrived in a skin-tight bright orange dress and was also accompanied by her mum Kris Jenner and best friend Jordyn Woods.
The store's doors finally opened at 10am on Friday with only about 20 customers allowed to enter the shop at a time with each one allowed to buy a maximum of three of each item, after being scanned by a metal detector. The store was decorated with neon pink Kylie lights above a wall of clothing, a huge Kylie sign featuring hugs and kisses on a black heart at the back, and one entire wall covered in Kylie lip kits.
The rear wall also included giant screens playing videos of Kylie and 27-year-old Tyga lying in bed together with Kylie showing off her legs in a feathered coat and lingerie and Tyga topless under the covers. There was also a white Christmas tree with a stash of lip kit-themed gifts underneath, plus racy photos of Kylie and Tyga together, one featuring the makeup maven topless.
Kylie and Tyga later celebrated the very successful day with dinner at Catch LA in West Hollywood, by which time she had changed out of her orange dress and into a red outfit consisting of a tiny cropped top, trousers and a matching red coat. She posted a photo to Instagram of herself in the new outfit, a mirror selfie of she and Tyga with the caption: "Real Eyes Realize Real Lies."
The store was still operating on Saturday and will remain open until all supplies are sold.
