Lady Gaga hysterical over Globes nod
Lady Gaga, Mark Ruffalo and Amy Schumer are some of the stars who have tweeted their delight following their Golden Globes nominations on Thursday (10Dec15).
Lady Gaga couldn't stop screaming after discovering she'd been nominated for a Golden Globe Award on Thursday (10Dec15).
The singer scored the nod thanks to her portrayal of The Countess in TV show American Horror Story: Hotel. She was mentioned in the best actress in a TV movie or limited series category, and will be vying against Sarah Hay (Flesh and Bone), Kirsten Dunst (Fargo), Felicity Huffman (American Crime) and Queen Latifah (Bessie).
"I apologize to my neighbors I'm still screaming in my apt (sic) in NY! I'm nominated as an actress for a Golden Globe what a dream is this real!" Gaga tweeted after the news was made public.
The singer isn't the only star who's taken to Twitter to discuss their nomination. Amy Schumer received a nod in the best actress in a comedy movie group for her role in Trainwreck, and she's stunned to be in the running for the prize.
"Me with my first globe predicting this moment #tbt Holy hell! Thank you Hollywood foreign press!! This is a dream," she jokingly wrote, next to an image of herself as a little girl, seemingly pretending to receive a prize.
Amy faces stiff competition from Jennifer Lawrence (Joy), Melissa McCarthy (Spy), Maggie Smith (Lady in the Van) and Lily Tomlin (Grandma).
Rami Malek is competing in the best TV drama actor category thanks to his part in Mr. Robot and is equally amazed to find himself mentioned alongside the likes of Jon Hamm, Wagner Moura, Bob Odenkirk and Liev Schreiber.
"This is such a humbling moment and a huge honor. Thank you to @goldenglobes for the recognition and for making this possible. I'm thrilled!" he wrote, before mentioning his SAG nomination, which was announced on Wednesday (09Dec15). "A massive thank you to @ScreenActors for the nomination. We're all in this together!! You have all my respect and gratitude."
Equally thrilled is Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy nominee Mark Ruffalo: "No way! Best actor Nom for #InfinitelyPolarBear !!! Thank you Hollywood Foreign Press! Thanks"
Gina Rodriguez scored a Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy nomination for her role in Jane the Virgin, but that wasn't the only reason her name was on people's lips. Golden Globes bosses mistakenly announced she was reading the nominations out live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles via Twitter, but it was actually Ugly Betty star America Ferrera on stage.
