Lamar lawyers up
Lamar Odom will be represented by O.J. Simpson's attorney, after he was bailed for DUI on Friday.
The 33-year-old basketball player will be represented by Robert Shapiro, a lawyer notorious for his plea bargaining in court.
Lamar is married to Khloé Kardashian, whose late father Robert Kardashian worked alongside Shapiro to help secure O.J. Simpson's acquittal on murder charges in 1995.
TMZ report that the probable outcome of the legal case will be Lamar losing his driving license for a year and having to attend alcohol education classes.
California Highway Patrol stopped Lamar, who is currently going through marital problems with Khloé, at around 3.45am on Friday on the 101 Freeway in the SA Francisco Valley.
Officers reported that he was moving in a serpentine manner and driving at the reduced sped of 50 miles per hour which alerted traffic cops.
He was said to show "obvious signs of intoxication" and refused to be tested for chemicals while also failing sobriety tests. The sportsman was released from jail on $15,000 bail.
The basketball star has been embroiled in several scandals lately. He is rumoured to be dealing with drug addiction, with some reports claiming he has a problem with Oxycontin and Ambien and others suggesting he is addicted to crack cocaine.
TMZ claimed Khloé was upset and angry that she learnt about Lamar's DUI arrest from the news, rather than hearing it first from him.
The reality TV star later took to her Twitter account to send a cryptic message to her fans.
"As much as I wish I were made of steel... I'm not," she wrote.
The couple are said to be experiencing marriage difficulties at the moment following allegations Lamar had several affairs.
