Lamar Odom ‘opens his eyes and communicates’
Lamar Odom has reportedly been able to open his eyes and communicate with doctors for the first time since he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel on Tuesday.
Lamar Odom has reportedly opened his eyes.
The basketball player was placed into a medically induced coma after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel room on Tuesday (13Oct15).
While there have been conflicting reports about Lamar’s progress, it has now been claimed that the sportsman has shown the most encouraging signs to date by opening his eyes.
A source told ET Online of the development and added that when he was asked if he wanted to see his children, Lamar replied “Yes”.
It is unclear at this stage whether Lamar spoke or answered by using body language.
Lamar’s children, Destiny and Lamar Jr, have been supporting their father by his bedside since arriving in Las Vegas with their mother, Lamar’s ex, Liza Morales on Wednesday (14Oct15).
They released a statement earlier this week asking for people’s support as their father continues to battle for his life.
"Thanks for your outpouring of prayers and support for our dad,” the statement, released to CNN, read. “We are here with our family and friends...We appreciate everyone respecting our privacy at this time. We ask for your continued prayers."
Lamar’s estranged wife Khloé Kardashian has remained in Las Vegas with her spouse, while her sisters Kim and Kourtney have returned to Los Angeles along with mother Kris Jenner.
According to reports, Kim, who is pregnant with her second child with husband Kanye West, had to return to California for a medical appointment that had taken months to arrange.
The family are said to be planning to return to Vegas over the weekend to continue their support of Lamar.
The clan have also asked their fans to pray for Lamar in various tweets and messages on social media sites.
The Kardashian/Jenner families recently launched their own apps, which have proved incredibly successful and topped the iTunes charts just hours after their releases.
But on Thursday (15Oct15), the family said they would not be updating their apps with any new information as their time is being taken up supporting Lamar.
“As as a family, we've decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar,” a message posted on Khloé, Kim and Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s websites read. “Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time".
