Lamar Odom ‘used drugs in hotel room’

Lamar Odom

There is reportedly new "evidence" that Lamar Odom was using drugs during his time as a basketball player.

The husband of Khloé Kardashian has hit headlines recently and is accused of cheating on the TV star as well as struggling with an addiction to "hardcore drugs".

TMZ reported last week the 33-year-old basketball star has been battling with substance abuse for two years and quietly entered rehab last August.

The website now claims there is evidence Lamar was using while he played for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks.

Sources connected to a Westin hotel in Memphis apparently told TMZ the sportsman left his room in a poor state while his team was in town playing the Memphis Grizzlies in March 2012.

"Our sources say when Lamar left, hotel employees found major carpet damage... including quarter-sized burn marks. The damage was so bad, the hotel had to replace the carpeting in the room," TMZ writes.

"Our sources say hotel employees also found white powder on the desk blotter and the room reeked of noxious smoke. Our sources say it was obvious there was serious drug use going on in the hotel room."

The website claims to have enquired at other hotels Lamar stayed in, including during his time in the Lakers, with several reportedly complaining about the "state" the star left rooms in.

Apparently Lamar was cut from the Mavericks mid-season and given a full year's pay so that he would "go away" because his problem was "so severe".

While many sources are claiming Lamar is addicted to crack cocaine, a source recently came forward to state these rumours are false and he was instead taking pain medication OxyContin.

TMZ writes his drug use is now becoming "life threatening".

As rumours about drugs and an apparent divorce from Khloé swirl, Lamar has been keeping a low profile.

However, he was spotted out in his SUV in Los Angeles on Monday looking gaunt.
