Lamar rejects rehab

Lamar Odom has reportedly been clean for five days and is adamant "self-help" will help him overcome his alleged addiction.

The basketball star is rumoured to be addicted to crack cocaine, with additional claims he is hooked on prescription medication Ambien and Oxycontin.

His marriage to Khloé Kardashian is thought to be on the verge of crumbling, after she kicked him out of their home following his refusal to go to rehab.

Yesterday it was alleged Khloé informed Lamar she was planning to file for divorce last week, which may have made Lamar rethink his issues.

According to TMZ, the 33-year-old sportsman has been clean for five days and is adamant he can kick his habit.

"Lamar says he's open to getting professional help, but only in private and not in a rehab facility. He has not yet committed to getting such help," reports the website.

The basketball star has reportedly told friends that "self-healing" will get him through the situation. It means he is planning to overcome his alleged addiction with willpower, which he is said to have told pals has worked for him in the past.

He is also thought to have ended friendships with some people he believes enable his supposed drug problems.

Although Lamar apparently wants to mend fences with Khloé, he is said to have another matter on his mind too. He wants to get his basketball career back on track and as intense training for teams has just started he apparently knows he needs to make sobriety his number one priority.

Although reports of the sportsman's alleged drug use only surfaced this year, it has been reported he has used hard drugs in the past. He is rumoured to have checked into a treatment facility last year on the urging of Khloé, but only lasted three weeks.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is yet to comment on the speculation surrounding her marriage and husband - who has also been accused of cheating on her. However, last week she removed his surname from her social networking accounts which was taken as a sign that she is moving on.
