Lana Del Rey: Canoodling with bikers was fun

Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey has joked that "snogging and caressing" ageing bikers is her "style".

The pop star explained why she chose to kiss older men in the eight minute music promo for latest single Ride.

Challenging the norm with her music videos is what drives Lana.

Although she wasn't physically attracted to the bikers she kissed, in real life the pretty star does tend to be drawn to older men.

"I love running narratives and long monologues with beautiful visuals. [We filmed Ride] in Las Vegas and so I got to tell one side of my story that way. Does that involve snogging and caressing older men? Yes that's my style!" Lana explained to BBC Radio One. "No, not really, but I do love men who have experienced a lot of life and who have known and done it all. The men in the video were Las Vegas natives and it was fun to have them on board."

Lana's sister was also involved with the process, which made it all the more special for the star.

"Filming Ride was one of the best experiences of my life. We went to the desert in Vegas, I had my sister with me and we spent two days together riding on motorbikes through Nevada with this crew who do that all the time," Lana gushed. "It was exciting for them too, to show the world what their lives are really like. It was two long days but I loved everything we got from it."

Lana's busy schedule means she will be apart from her family over the American Thanksgiving holiday later this month. Cooking is one thing she isn't good at, so she will be staying away from the kitchen when she re-joins her family for the festive season.

"We'll be apart at Thanksgiving then back together at Christmas," Lana finished. "I won't be cooking, I'm not good. I'm good at cupcakes. My favourite is making cakes but it takes so long it's so boring. I like eating them though."
