Lance fuels 'N Sync gossip
Lance Bass has weighed in on the rumours that ‘N Sync are performing together at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.
Justin Timberlake will receive the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, and is planning a special performance for the ceremony.
Following on from news of Justin's appearance at the star-studded event, speculation has been mounting that he will be joined on stage by his former bandmates Lance, Joey Fatone, J.C. Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick.
Lance has now addressed the rumours on his Sirius radio show.
"This morning I woke up to a lot of rumours flying that the ‘N Sync reunion is happening after eleven years at the VMAs this Sunday. Well, let me tell you how this all came about. Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award this Sunday at the awards, so of course people are automatically going to think we’re going to be there performing, but this is exactly how it happened and I knew these rumours were going to fly," he said.
Lance continued to explain that the rumours were probably further fuelled when he posted a picture to his Instagram account with Joey and Chris at Justin's gig in Miami on Friday.
The singer is overwhelmed by the response.
"It’s amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media of how many people really are supporting ‘N Sync," he gushed.
"It’s so nice to see, because when we ended things ten years ago, there was no social media. There was no Twitter fans, that type of stuff, but it’s so cute to see how many people are supporting it and ‘N Sync was even trending."
Earlier this year, Lance claimed Justin didn’t have the time to get back together with his bandmates.
"I don't think we're doing anything. I don't think [a reunion] would happen. Everyone is doing their own thing,” he said. "Justin's doing his thing. I don't think he would have a moment off to do an ‘N Sync album. He's the busy one."
