Lara Stone wins Playboy damages

Lara Stone has won damages from French Playboy

Lara Stone has won "significant" damages from French Playboy after the magazine published unauthorised photographs of her.

The Dutch supermodel, 26, who is married to Little Britain star David Walliams, 39, will donate the money to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

In a statement released by her law firm Schillings, the fashion model said: "No woman wants photos of them to be published in Playboy without permission. I'm very pleased to have won the case, although of course I would rather not have had to take legal action at all."

Lara instructed Schillings in London and Asmar & Assayag in Paris to sue French Playboy and American photographer Greg Lotus after the images appeared in the magazine in June.

The case was heard in a court in Paris under French image rights legislation.

Playboy has also been ordered to publish a prominent legal statement in the next edition of the magazine confirming the court has found it has infringed Lara's image rights, Schillings said.

Lara is ranked among the world's top fashion models, appearing on the covers of Vogue's French, Italian, British, Japanese and American editions.

She married comedian David in May this year in a lavish ceremony at Claridge's hotel in London.

Earlier this week, a risque advertising campaign for Calvin Klein Jeans featuring Lara was banned in Australia after the country's Advertising Standards Bureau ruled it was "suggestive of violence and rape".
