Laura Whitmore's ready for romance on Strictly Come Dancing
Laura Whitmore believes romance may be on the cards for her as a Strictly Come Dancing contestant.
Laura Whitmore is hoping for a wedding to come out of her stint on Strictly Come Dancing.
The BBC dance contest has a history of bringing people together, and last month (Jul16) rugby star Ben Cohen and dancer Kristina Rihanoff who were paired on the 2013 series welcomed daughter, Milena.
And the Irish TV presenter believes that among the show's host of hunky dancers she may find her future husband.
"I did laugh when they were talking about your dance partner," she tells British newspaper The Sun. "I was like: 'Is it dance partner or is it a future husband?'"
The 31-year-old has spoken to pals about what she can expect from her Strictly stint and believes that even if she struggles to find romance she will form firm friendships with her fellow contestants and the show's professional dancers.
"Friends who have been on the show told me you make best friends for life," she hopes. "They said you do become close as your dance partner is such a big figure to you and you rely on them so much."
Laura says that even if it's not her who finds love on the show, she hopes someone does begin a romance so she can go to the wedding.
"The show has made a lot of couples. How many relationships have come out of it? Quite a few," she adds. "I'm not looking for anything, but I wouldn't mind going to a wedding if somebody else is looking to get together."
The former I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! NOW! host has dated a number of high profile men in the past, with her exes including Game of Thrones star Richard Madden and rocker Miles Kane.
However when signing up to the show she was less worried about finding a man but missing the chance to dance.
"They asked me to take part in the past and I got to the stage where they might not ask me again," she explains. "I don't know anyone who hasn't done it and hasn't loved it."
Two other famous names have been announced as contestants so far, U.K. politician Ed Balls and pop star Will Young.
