Lauren Murray: 'X Factor is my only TV stint'
The X Factor's Lauren Murray thinks people underestimate new judge Nick Grimshaw.
Lauren Murray will never go on TV again after competing in The X Factor, and insists she didn't take part to get famous.
The 25-year-old singer was the latest hopeful to be voted off the show on Sunday evening (06Dec15), when she lost out to Che Chesterman. While she's "gutted" to have left so close to the final this weekend (12-13Dec15), Lauren found the experience an eye-opening one - and not necessarily in a good way.
"I will never do a TV show again - ever!" she told Britain's Metro newspaper. "I would never do Big Brother. That's hell. I'm a Celeb... (Get Me Out of Here!)... even worse.
"I came here for a record contract, to make an album. I never done this to get famous."
However, it seems being recognised is inevitable now, especially by the opposite sex. Lauren isn't having any of it though, warning men not to try it on with her just because her name's in the spotlight and that she "hasn't got time" for boys.
There have been some positive outcomes for the brunette beauty though, such as getting close to her mentor, pop star Rita Ora. Lauren also bonded with judge Nick Grimshaw, who, along with Rita, joined the show this year (15).
"I love him," Lauren said of Nick. "People don't give him enough credit - he's the one who's most involved with all the acts."
As for who she's backing to win, Lauren was quick to name 17-year-old Louisa Johnson, who was in the same category as her: "She's been favourite since day one - good on her."
It was an emotional departure for Lauren on Sunday night (06Dec15). She was so overwhelmed when going up against Che because they had grown close during their time together. "He was the last person I wanted to do the sing-off with," she explained on Monday (07Dec15) on Good Morning Britain.
