Laurie: More energy in new House
Hugh Laurie thinks Lisa Edelstein leaving House has given the show a "jolt of energy".
The actress announced in May that she would not be returning as Dr Lisa Cuddy for the eighth series of the medical drama, but Hugh said the cast had to adapt to her not being around.
Hugh, who plays the titular doctor, said of her departure: "It's a huge loss, but at the same time when something like that happens, it actually gives a strange sort of jolt of energy to the thing."
The Emmy-winning actor went on: "When people are forced into that slightly panicky moment of innovation... Sometimes [you] get that burst of energy that might take you down an interesting path. I think we have done some very good stuff, I must say, that's really interesting."
:: House series 8 begins in the UK on October 6 on Sky1.
