Lea Michele picks family dinners over fame

Lea Michele

Lea Michele goes to her family when she needs an instant reality check.

The 27-year-old actress grew up in New York City but now lives in Los Angeles where she shoots TV show Glee. She first tasted success when she was cast in a Broadway production aged eight, but has been careful not to let things go to her head.

"A good dinner with my mom and dad and my big Italian family," she told British magazine Hello! when asked how she copes with fame. "No matter what is going on in my life or in this business, that is my home and that is my heart."

Lea still can't believe how far she has come in life. She has worked hard for what she has, but never expected to be starring in a hit TV show during her twenties.

"I never thought I would be on such an amazing show and living in LA, so this has so far exceeded anything I could have dreamt of," she said. "I think it teaches you not to set limits for yourself and to go 100 per cent into whatever you believe in."

The actress-and-singer also discussed her role model - Barbra Streisand. She's an unusual choice for someone so young, but Lea believes in her message and hopes other people will too.

"I really love her. She's always been a role model. She built her career by focusing on what makes her unique - it's how she became so successful," Lea gushed.

"I want to introduce that idea to this generation - that you take what makes you unique, what makes you you, and you will achieve all your dreams. It really is what has got me to where I am today."

Virgo:

A home improvement project will grind to a halt. Someone who is close to your heart may need some peace and quiet. Be prepared to send a repair professional away while your loved one recovers. If you're renting a space, your landlord may tell you to leave with very little notice. Stay calm. It will be easier to find new living arrangements if you remain logical. Spread the word on social media. Be specific about your needs. A friend or acquaintance may hear of somewhere suitable for you.More
