Lea 'reaches out to Zac'

Lea Michele

Lea Michele has reportedly reached out to Zac Efron in the wake of his rehab scandal.

Earlier this month it was revealed that Zac has spent time in rehab this year, supposedly for cocaine addiction. He is also rumoured to have dabbled with other drugs and suffered an overdose in a New York City hotel room after taking prescription medication Oxycodone.

Lea is still getting over the death of her boyfriend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith, who passed away after a heroin and alcohol overdose in July. She and Zac worked together on the 2011 movie New Year's Eve and she has apparently vowed to help him.

"They have plans to go on a yoga outing together in LA later this year and he promised to discuss his state of mind with her weekly by phone or email," an insider told Look magazine.

The two stars apparently got back in touch after Lea reached out to the 25-year-old star.

"Lea called Zac and told him, 'I'm here if you need me.' She urged him to get serious about having a 24-hour sobriety coach and to only spend time with people who care about his welfare," the insider said.

"Zac was really glad to hear from her."

Although Lea is trying hard to move on with her life, her grief over Cory is still raw. She is apparently terrified that Zac could "go down the same path" as her late boyfriend, which is why she is determined to help.
