Lena Dunham: Friends make me fearless

Lena Dunham has been thinking about how her pals “feed” her emotionally.

The actress stars in and is the creator of hit HBO show Girls, which follows the lives of a group of friends living in New York City.

Her character Hannah is close to her pals on the show – something Lena can relate to in real life.

“Tonight I sat with two old friends, laughed about people from 2003 and didn't feel scared to die because that's how they embolden me,” she posted on Twitter.

“It's easy to forget all the things that feed you that aren't food (but you still have to eat food) (sic).”

Lena is currently busy working on season three of the show alongside co-stars Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet and Jemima Kirke.

However, the 27-year-old is making sure she also gives herself time to relax.

“Yesterday I got my toes done and the pedicurist was being drilled by a journalist: ‘so, do many customers have smelly feet?’ This is real. (sic),” she posted.

Season three of Girls will air from January 2014.

Lena recently revealed that directing the series has become harder for her as time has gone on.

"It has, counter intuitively, become a bit more challenging. I am far more aware of camera, sound, costumes and blocking than I was when I started. I had a blissful ignorance that let me simply exist in a scene. Now I am pickier, with a stronger vision for my work," she told The Hollywood Reporter.
