Annie Lennox: I’m up for boundary pushing, but this is too far.

The British singing legend has spoken out over graphic pop videos she deems to be inappropriate for young children.

Speaking openly in an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live’s Anna Foster and Peter Allen, she didn’t hold back with her scathing remarks.

"I'm all for freedom of expression. I'm all for boundary pushing. But this is clearly one step beyond, and it's clearly into the realm of porn.

“There are so many millions of hits on Youtube; with this barrage how do you stop your kids being exposed to it? It is so powerful. I am sure I talk for millions of parents,” she fumed.

She shared her fears that the only thing the music industry was concerned with was making money.

Admitting that she’s a liberal minded person, Annie at one point commended artists who are pushing sexuality boundaries but reaffirmed that the music videos need to be age appropriate, and shouldn’t be viewed by young audiences.

“I actually think that what is really required are some kind of very clear boundaries. There is a difference between what is pornographic and what is entertainment.

“I don’t think there’s one parent of young boys and girls in this country would honestly and comfortably say were fine seeing their kids exposed to that kind of thing,” she continued.

The outburst comes just days after the 58-year-old took to her Facebook page to air her opinion on the Miley Cyrus and Sinéad O'Connor fall out.

Sinéad last week wrote Miley an open letter sharing her concern over the young star’s overtly sexual behaviour.
