Lenny Henry returns to Shakespeare
Lenny Henry will make his first appearance at the National Theatre later this year in William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors.
The star, who was acclaimed for his 2009 performance as Othello, will play Antipholus of Syracuse at the central London theatre in November.
The play follows the story of two sets of identical twins who cause chaos when they appear separately in the same city on the same day.
Henry - from Dudley in the West Midlands - first found fame as a teenager on ITV's New Faces talent show for his comedy impressions, which included Michael Crawford's character Frank Spencer.
His career as a stand-up comic saw him joining the kids' TV show Tiswas alongside Chris Tarrant and its late-night adult sister show OTT.
He went on to work on BBC1's Three Of A Kind before fronting his own series, appearing in films and starring in the successful sitcom Chef!
He separated from his wife Dawn French last year after 25 years of marriage.
