One lucky bidder at a Cannes charity auction will win the chance to travel into space with Leonardo DiCaprio.
The generous Hollywood heartthrob is one of the biggest prizes at the amfAR gala in Cannes, which takes place tonight. The highest bidder will take a trip on Virgin Galactic's space flight accompanied by Leonardo, reports New York Post. Seats on the world's first commercial space flight cost around $200,000, however this journey has been described as "priceless" since one lucky person will have the pleasure of Leonardo's company as they leave Earth behind.
Tonight's 20th anniversary amfAR gala will take place at the lavish Hotel du Cap in France. The event boasts live performances from acts including Dame Shirley Bassey and Duran Duran, while guests expected to attend include Jessica Chastain, Janet Jackson, Nicole Kidman, Christoph Waltz and Jeremy Renner.
Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson is hoping to launch the first manned flight from his spaceport in New Mexico at the end of the year.
A host of stars have already signed up to take the trip, including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Ashton Kutcher and it is believed there is a waiting list of 65,000 people.
The space trip is expected to take around 2.5 hours and passengers must first undergo three days of training before they board the flight.
A ship can carry two pilots and six passengers at a time.
Leonardo is renowned for his philanthropic work.
The 38-year-old star recently raised an impressive $38.8 million to benefit wildlife conservation through his own foundation with a charity art auction, which was titled The 11th Hour.
