Liam Hemsworth: Fame is a rollercoaster ride
Actor Liam Hemsworth is relieved screaming fans don't wait at every corner for him.
Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth feels like he's on an adrenaline-fuelled rollercoaster when he promotes his films.
The teen films really boosted his profiles, casting him and co-star Jennifer Lawrence firmly into the limelight. While he likes the fact he brings so much enjoyment into people's lives, he does find it exhausting at times.
"The fame is a normal part of my job," he explained to Germany's Bravo magazine.
"It's really nice to see how happy it makes people when they meet me. The only time things get really chaotic is when we head off on a press tour for a film. Then it really feels like an adrenaline-fuelled rollercoaster. There's just so much going on at once! But that's not my day-to-day life. It's not like there are screaming fans waiting at every corner! My everyday life is generally pretty calm."
Despite trying to maintain a normal life, Liam admits it's become harder to trust people. That's why he hangs out with older brothers Chris and Luke and friends he's had since childhood.
"I don't really need any new people in my life," he smiled.
Liam and Chris grew up in Australia but have now found fame in Hollywood. The star admits spending time in the US is very different to the way it is Down Under.
"Just the other day I hit my head on a rock when I was surfing," he recalled. "The difference is that in Australia, no one cares. In LA, hundreds of people, including reporters, gather to capture that moment. My life is nowhere near as free and easy as it used to be..."
