Lil' Kim: Concert cancellation wasn't my fault

Lil' Kim insists she isn't to blame for disappointing fans who waited in vain for her performance at the Lovebox festival in London this weekend.

The rapper is said to have caused "absolute panic" when she arrived late for the Lovebox festival in London.

Her performance was cancelled at the last minute after organisers alleged she failed to show up on time.

Kim was reportedly due to take the stage at 6:10 p.m. and show bosses said they had "no option" but to axe her.

According to UK newspaper The Mirror, Kim's apparent late arrival sparked chaos backstage.

"There was absolute panic. Nobody could get hold of her. Organisers didn't want to have to push back everybody else's set," a source said.

"At 7pm she rocked up with her entourage but security told them they had to leave the site. It got pretty heated backstage."

Kim told the newspaper the allegations are baseless.

"It's a long story. But it wasn't our fault," she said.

The rapper declined to elaborate.

Producers at Lovebox released a statement shortly after Kim's missed set.

"Lil' Kim did not turn up to her set on time. The festival had no other option but to maintain the scheduled running order to ensure the other main stage acts were not disrupted," the statement read.

The star's spokesperson meanwhile maintained the tardiness was not the performer's fault.

"Due to circumstances that were out of Kim's control, her performance at #LoveBox was cancelled. Kim was on-site and on time for her performance and apologizes to all of her fans for the inconvenience," publicist Lizzie Grubman tweeted.

The spokesperson has yet to comment on the latest accusations.
