Lilly’s big family plans
Evangeline Lilly has said she wants lots of babies and would consider adoption.
The 35-year-old star of The Hobbit has a three-year-old son named Kahekili with her partner Norman Kali, as well as a very busy acting career. But family is of the utmost important to the actress, and she has not ruled out any of the ways she could have more babies in the future.
“[I would] consider adoption as an alternative to having all six of them myself,” she told Canada’s Fashion Magazine.
Evangeline became a household name after starring as Kate Austen in hit television series Lost. But in spite of her varied career, motherhood seems to have been her favourite role to date.
“There is that old mentality where some think women should be barefoot and pregnant and in the kitchen,” the brunette beauty said. “When I hear those words, I think, ‘What. A. Dream.’ There are no negative connotations to it.”
Evangeline has managed to avoid getting herself stuck in the paparazzi spotlight and is rarely seen revelling in the Hollywood party scene. She hinted this may be because she’s got her head screwed on about what her end game is.
“I am an opportunist,” she told the publication. “When opportunities come and I see them serving my grander goals in life, I take them. When I look ahead and see where I want to be in five years from now, I know acting can get me there. It’s a vehicle where I can realize my other dreams.”
The actress can next be seen portraying Hope Van Dyne in superhero movie Ant-Man. She stars alongside Paul Rudd in the Marvel produced film.
When she’s not working on her career, Evangeline resides in Hawaii with her family, which is where Lost was filmed.
