LiLo's plans to harass Tina Fey
Lindsay Lohan doesn't know how Mean Girls will ever be topped.
The 28-year-old actress starred in the 2004 cult classic set in an American high school alongside Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert. A decade on, the film is still as popular as ever, and Lindsay admits she'd be on board for humorous remake if comedienne and writer Tina is open to the idea.
"People really love the movie: how do you top that? I was with Tina Fey the other day and I said we should do another Mean Girls, like an older version where they're all housewives and they're all cheating," she laughed to British magazine Time Out London. "That would be really funny. I’ll harass Tina to write it."
Lindsay has left her life in New York behind for the delights of London, UK, where she is set to appear in David Mamet's West End production of Speed-the-Plow. Her role as secretary Karen has been helmed by the likes of Madonna and Alicia Silverstone in the past, and the star feels she can relate to the part a great deal.
This job marks one of Lindsay's biggest ventures since completing her court-ordered stint in rehab last year, and she is hopeful the production will pave the way for a successful future.
"My character gets a taste of the Hollywood life, and I think this happens in LA a lot: people get hooked on the adrenaline that comes with making movies and get out of their depth," Lindsay explained.
"I think it [the play] definitely helps [make me more employable]. I think it shows that I can be accountable and I think it helps with the perception that I’m just a psycho that goes out and stuff. I’ve done things, but people grow up and they change. I’m willing to work hard to gain back the respect that I once had and have lost."
