Lily attracted to ‘dark side’

Lily Collins

Lily Collins claims she is in an ever-present “goth phase”.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones actress was constantly interested in investigating more chilling subjects in her younger years.

“I didn’t have a goth phase. My mom and I would always visit churches when I was travelling, and I was always interested in the darker side of things and the darker side of fairy tales,” she told Flaunt magazine.

Although Lily loves to explore certain subjects she has a natural dislike towards anything related to social media.

She won’t be trawling through Twitter anytime soon because she doesn’t want to know too much about the other famous actors she’ll see on screen.

“I think there is something great about seeing someone as a character because you don’t know them that well as themselves,” she explained.

“I like to be able to watch movies and not know too much about someone personally. I don’t want to be tainted by thinking, ‘Oh my god, they had the best pasta last week.’”

Lily recently revealed that her musician father Phil Collins advised her of the ins and outs of fame.

The star appreciates her father’s guidance and is happy to make him proud.

“My dad has shown me the pros and cons of being in the public eye,” she told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper.

“He just wants me to focus on being happy. Seeing his little girl on a fan video is surreal, I think. They didn’t have Facebook and Twitter in his day.”

Mortal Instruments was released this month.

Virgo:

It's difficult to deal with a highly competitive colleague. Every time you submit work, they try to find ways to outperform you. Although you have no interest in pitting your talent against theirs, this other person thinks very differently. Ignoring them won't be possible. A good way to disarm this pest is to invite them out for coffee. Describe what you've observed and ask for a truce. Irrational people are often thrown off balance when their behaviour is addressed in a direct manner.More
