Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan spoke of how important her family is to her at an event in New York City last night.

The actress has experienced a string of legal woes over the last year, including getting involved in a fight with a psychic while at a New York City nightclub. She's also been accused of lying to police about a car crash last year, which could see her spending time in prison.

The star put her problems to one side to attend the amfAR New York Gala at Cipriani Wall Street last night. While there, she spoke of how much her loved one's support means to her.

"Family," she replied, when E! News asked her what keeps her sane. "You can't get through anything without the family. Family is everything."

The star looked stunning at the event, wearing a floor-length nude gown which was covered in silver beading and sparkles. The thin straps showed off the 26-year-old's décolletage and she accessorised with a simple glitzy ring and matching bracelet.

Lindsay's hair was back to her natural auburn colour and she wore it long and loose, with simple metallic make-up adding to her fresh-faced appeal.

Also at the gala was former The Voice mentor Cee Lo Green, who admitted he couldn't take his eyes off Lindsay.

"What? He does? I watch his show!" Lindsay shrieked, when told the musician thought she was sexy.

Other stars at the event included Sarah Jessica Parker, Doutzen Kroes, John Legend and Anne Vyalitsyna. The gala was held to honour Heidi Klum, Janet Jackson and fashion designer Kenneth Cole for their contributions to the fight again AIDS and signalled the start of New York Fashion Week.
