The actress was released last week from a 90-day court-ordered stint in rehab.
After her various run-ins with the law, sometimes stemming from intoxication, Lindsay is taking the advice of the media mogul get back on the right path.
"She is doing everything Oprah tells her to do," a source told Us Weekly.
Lindsay has landed a docu-series on OWN and will be interviewed in a forthcoming episode of Oprah's Next Chapter.
Apparently the thespian wanted to reward herself with a trip Europe but followed Oprah’s instruction to stay put in the United States in order to look good on her reality TV show.
"It'll show her going to meetings, working on herself and doing different things she hasn't done in a while," the insider explained about the show, due to air early 2014. "She really wants to get back to living a normal life and not being around negative people."
Lindsay has apparently spent 293 days in rehab since her first stint in 2007.
The 27-year-old is finally showing signs of change according to 59-year-old Oprah.
"I thought that she's in the best place that I've ever seen her," she said on Good Morning America. "I believe that she believes that she is now ready. And she admitted that there were other times when she was pretending to be ready and not quite sure.
“And sometimes resentful that she was being, you know, put in a position where she had to go to rehab. I think this is the first time I could see it really benefited her."
Lindsay is next due to star in The Canyons with porn star James Deen.
The flick is an American erotic thriller directed by Paul Schrader.
