Lindsay Lohan out of rehab
Lindsay Lohan has finished her court-ordered 90-day stint in rehab.
The troubled actress was court-ordered to complete a 90-day stint in treatment stemming from a car crash she was in last year.
It was expected that she would check out of the Cliffside facility in Malibu on Wednesday, but she actually left on Tuesday.
TMZ published a picture of the beaming actress as she climbed into a SUV which drove her away from the establishment. The 27-year-old star looked relaxed and healthy and was wearing a simple blue summer dress with a tan fringed suede coat, ankle boots and black socks which came up to mid calf. Her eyes were covered by a pair of aviators and she had a large blue bag casually slung over her arm.
Early yesterday it was claimed Lindsay was hoping to stay in rehab for an extra few days to help her acclimatise to life on the outside. It's now been suggested that she will actually stay with a sober coach in Los Angeles following her departure, to ensure she stays on the right path.
The star began her rehab spell at the Betty Ford Centre, but switched facilities part way through. It was reported she was unhappy with some of the experiences she was subjected to at the first centre, with another patient having substances smuggled in to them.
Lindsay has completed many stays in rehab for issues with drugs and alcohol. It seems she is ready to make some changes this time around and has apparently decided to cut negative influences from her life. Around 80 of her friends are said to have got the chop, among them her ex-girlfriend DJ Samantha Ronson.
The actress is now focusing on her career and has received rave reviews for her role in new erotic thriller The Canyons, which premiered in New York City on Monday. Director Paul Schrader spoke of how impressed he was with Lindsay at the event, which her mother Dina attended in her place.
"Lindsay has moved out of her ingénue phase," he said. "I think she wears the new phase quite well."
Lindsay was sentenced to rehab following allegations she lied to police after a car crash in Santa Monica last year, violating probation she was on at the time.
