Lindsay Lohan reportedly got "all steamed up" after thinking she heard a rude comment about Liz & Dick shortly before her nightclub fight.

The actress was arrested and charged with assault after apparently hitting Tiffany Eve Mitchell in the face in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Although her legal team is adamant the charge will be dismissed sources have insisted there was an altercation. The women were both in the VIP section of the Avenue nightspot and it's been claimed they began arguing after Lindsay thought she heard a remark about her turn as Dame Elizabeth Taylor in the movie Liz & Dick - which has been widely panned by critics.

"Lindsay apparently didn't like the way the woman and her husband - plus the couple who were with them - were looking at her," an insider told Chicago Sun-Times.

"Lindsay clearly thought they were staring at her, laughing and mocking her… She supposedly heard a crack about her Liz Taylor movie, and you could see her just get all steamed up."

Tiffany has alleged Lindsay hit her so hard she fell to the ground.

It's also been suggested Max George from boy band The Wanted unwittingly played a part in the incident.

The Wanted supported Justin Bieber in New York this week, with Lindsay going to see the show before making her way to Avenue. It's been suggested she was enamoured with Max but he was not so interested, leading her to lose her cool.

It was reported that Lindsay had been drinking alcohol and taking cocaine before her arrest, allegations her lawyer Mark Heller has rejected.

However, in a new report TMZ has alleged the 26-year-old star's addiction problems are back. She has undergone many stints in rehab to deal with drug and alcohol issues but the website claims she is now regularly drinking vodka.

It is claimed she has been "boozing heavily for months" with a source alleging she sometimes has as much as two litres of vodka in a day.

Following Lindsay's arrest yesterday it was confirmed that she has been charged with three criminal indictments following a car crash this summer. At the time she told police her assistant Gavin Doyle was behind the wheel, but he later clarified it was her. She is on probation after pleading no contest to stealing a necklace, so that could now be revoked.

Those around the star now want her to get help, with Gavin issuing a direct plea to her over Twitter.

"@lindsaylohan after bailing you out last night I HOPE and PRAY you get the help you so desperately need. We are ALL rooting for you. Xxx (sic)," he wrote.

The star is now said to be considering spending six months in rehab to help deal with her issues and to avoid jail time.

"Lindsay's manager and agent have been telling her for months that she must go to rehab to save her life. Until now she has resisted, but after her arrest this morning she realises she needs help," a source told RadarOnline.

Resign yourself to this difficult situation. If you do a good job, you'll pave the way for bigger and better assignments. Part of the problem is you lack experience. The only way to get the training you need is to do some volunteer work. Making a temporary sacrifice will eventually pay off. Be patient.More
