Lindsay Lohan to get off scot-free?

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan has reportedly been telling friends that she will not be prosecuted for leaving the scene of an accident.

The 26-year-old star was taken to jail Wednesday morning after being accused of hitting Manhattan chef Jose Rodriguez with her car.

Surveillance video of the incident doesn't show clearly whether or not Lindsay, who was driving extremely slow and cautiously, actually hit Jose.

According to Radar Online, Lindsay doesn't believe that she will get into trouble for this incident.

The actress' representatives also thinks the charges will be dropped.

"They should press charges against people who make false allegations and waste the time and resources of New York's hardworking law enforcement," Lindsay's rep Steven Honig told the website.

She was given a desk appearance ticket for the misdemeanour offence of leaving the scene of an accident, which in New York is a document that orders a person to attend a criminal court for an arraignment. It meant she did not have to post bail.

Lindsay has been arrested several times before and earlier this year was named a person of interest in a jewellery theft. She was later ruled out of the case.
