Lindsay Lohan's mom: Oprah is best for her
Dina Lohan thinks her daughter Lindsay's interview with Oprah Winfrey post-rehab is a "great opportunity".
The troubled star is currently receiving treatment at the Cliffside Malibu rehabilitation centre, after being court-ordered to receive 90 days treatment. She initially checked into the Betty Ford Center, before switching.
It was revealed last week that talk show queen Oprah's OWN network had signed the actress to appear in a documentary about her recovery after leaving rehab.
Lindsay's mom Dina thinks the show will be cathartic for her daughter.
“If there’s any mentor you could choose, there’s nobody better than Oprah," she explained in an interview with New York Post. "This is a great opportunity for Lindsay. We are all very excited about it."
Lindsay struck a deal with prosecutors to complete a stint in rehab after she pled no contest to reckless driving and lying to police investigating her June 2012 car crash in Santa Monica, California.
Dina added her 27-year-old daughter is “healthy, happy and doing really well” in the clinic, and said that the "whole family" are heading to visit the star later this week.
Lindsay will be interviewed by Oprah in August, which will be followed by a reality series in 2014 documenting her recovery.
OWN network released a statement last week about the upcoming programme.
“OWN will air an exclusive interview with Oprah and Lindsay Lohan that will tape and air in August and an eight-part documentary series with Lindsay for 2014," it read.
It was also revealed that the show will see Lindsay as she “works to rebuild her career and stay healthy".
