Lionel Richie says he's "fascinated" by how much his daughter Nicole Richie has changed.
The legendary singer opened up about his relationship with the former wild child who has gone from clubbing with Paris Hilton to becoming a wife, mother, and fashion entrepreneur.
In an interview with Fox411, Lionel says that it has been wonderful watching the Fashion Star mentor change, although she is now telling him off for inappropriate behaviour in front of her two children; Harlow, four, and Sparrow, two.
"She'll say to me dad, watch your voice, we don't say those words around the kids," he laughed.
"Excuse me? Like you and Paris didn't? What are you talking about? It's really quite fascinating as to her transformation."
Lionel has a new country album out called Tuskeegee where he duets with big names in the genre like Shania Twain, Taylor Swift and Blake Shelton.
"R&B and Country tell stories, so I think that's what happened in my case," Lionel said about his foray into the arena. "Lionel Richie is not going country, Lionel Richie's songs have already gone country, I'm just joining those kids over there that have already been there."
