Liv Tyler is set to star opposite Justin Theroux in US pilot The Leftovers, according to reports.

Deadline said that the casting would be the first TV role for the Lord Of The Rings actress.

Liv will play Meg, a woman about to get married but who is looking for an escape.

She becomes the target of a cult in the pilot, which is based on a 2011 novel by Tom Perrotta.

Justin, who is engaged to Jennifer Aniston, is said to be playing chief of police and father-of-two Kevin Garvey.

The HBO pilot will be directed by Peter Berg and written by Lost's Damon Lindelof and The Leftovers author Perrotta.

You're determined to get your agenda met, even if it means being loud and difficult. The prospect of creating friction does not bother you at all. You'd rather put people in an uncomfortable position than accept their inflexible position. By stirring up enough publicity, you could exert enough pressure to create some changes. A new set of rules will allow you to move forward with a brilliant plan. You'll get the full support of an influential executive who is tired of the old guard.More
