Elizabeth Hurley's son has convinced Joan Collins to star in one of his homemade movies.

The British actress has 13-year-old Damian with her former partner Steve Bing and she describes herself as an Italian mother, as in her eyes her son can do no wrong.

He is just as supportive of her and loves helping her and her castmates with their lines on TV show The Royals. Damian is interested in all areas of his mother's job and likes writing his own scripts, which luckily for him his mum's friends and co-stars are happy to be involved in.

"Damian adores anything to do with showbusiness. He writes and shoots mini movies and then bullies me and all my friends to be in them. Uncle Hugh [Grant, Elizabeth's ex] and others have been very patient and he's also batted his eyelashes at Joan Collins [Royals co-star] who agreed to shoot a scene for him over the summer," she laughed to British magazine Hello!

Hugh is Damian's godfather and they spend a lot of time together, as he and Elizabeth remained close after their breakup. In fact the 50-year-old actress prides herself on maintaining good relationships with her exes and Damian also sees a lot of her former spouse Arun Nayar.

"Damian adores Uncle Hugh and Arun plays a major role in Damian's life. I love everyone getting on and hold my exes in the highest regard. Hugh and I are slowly turning into Darby and Joan and have dinner together a couple of nights a week. We'll be playing bingo any moment," she giggled.

The star is currently single following her broken engagement to former cricket star Shane Warne, although they are also still friends.

The end of that relationship marked a change in attitude for Elizabeth, who has vowed to start doing things a little differently.

"I've been a serial dater all my adult life and have lived with boyfriends, fiancés or husbands since I was 17. Way too much of my private life has indeed been scrutinised," she explained.

"This time round I am making a supreme effort to keep my private life a lot more private and have my mouth firmly zipped on this subject; all I'll say is I'm really enjoying myself."
