LL Cool J: Grammys hosting will be fun
LL Cool J "just wants to have fun" while hosting the upcoming 54th Annual Grammy Awards.
The 44-year-old rapper is poised to present the prestigious music awards ceremony this weekend. LL doesn't want to be compared to hosts before him, and insists he will bring his own personality to the stage.
"I just want to have fun," he revealed in an interview with ET Online. "I'm not trying to be Billy Crystal. I don't think that I'm that."
LL says that even though he is taking the reins at the ceremony, he doesn't want to be the show's main focus. The two-time Grammy winner wants all of the musicians to shine as they should.
"[I want to] not make it about me, [but] make it about the artists that are performing," he explained.
"Hopefully people will enjoy the show."
LL is the first Grammy Awards presenter in seven years.
Performers will include current Grammy nominees Taylor Swift, Foo Fighters, Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Coldplay.
The 54th Grammy Awards will air on Sunday February 12.
