LL Cool J: My mum wants an agent

LL Cool J says he and his NCIS: Los Angeles castmates are good pals

LL Cool J has joked his mother wants to follow in his footsteps after making a cameo in his TV show NCIS: Los Angeles.

The rapper stars with Chris O'Donnell in the crime drama about the Los Angeles-based Office of Special Projects, an elite division of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, and their mothers are making a cameo in the new season.

LL Cool J said: "It's going to be a lot of fun. My mother said, 'I want an agent... I think this is great... I should have been doing this... I have found my calling.' My mother is hilarious."

But the 44-year-old doesn't want to encourage his mother to keep acting.

He laughed: "Absolutely not! I don't want to encourage it at all. I just want her to be kept. Please let me just keep you!"

LL Cool J also insisted that unlike the cast of other shows, there was no behind-the-scenes tension between the cast of NCIS: Los Angeles as they really are friends.

He said: "There's no question about it, I can't explain how that works, but we really get along.

"People always say that on these shows, and sometimes I sit and watch TV and I see people at junkets and they always say they get along but sometimes you can see through that and they don't really get along. But we actually do. And I think that's a cool thing.

"It's nice to work with people when you don't have a lot of bickering and back-biting and crazy stuff going on. And I think that speaks to the character. Not just to the characters on screen but the characters of the actors playing them."

::The new series of NCIS: Los Angeles is now airing on Sky1 HD.
