US prosecutors have charged Lindsay Lohan over the theft of a 2,500 dollar (£1,550) necklace.
The 24-year-old actress was charged with felony grand theft and is due to appear in court to hear the charges against her.
Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, has denied the necklace was stolen.
Prosecutors have asked for bail to be set at 20,000 dollars (£12,415).
The charge is the latest legal problem for the starlet, who remains on probation for a 2007 drink-driving case.
Police began investigating Lohan after a shop in Venice Beach, California, reported the necklace missing on January 22.
