Lohan: I didn't deserve prison

Lindsay Lohan thinks her jail term was harsh

Lindsay Lohan has said she didn't deserve to be sent to prison - claiming only killers should be given jail sentences.

The 25-year-old actress - who has served three brief jail terms and most recently 35 days under house arrest for violating the probation terms of her 2007 driving under the influence conviction - claims she didn't harm anyone but herself, therefore was harshly punished.

Lindsay told Vanity Fair Italy: "Unless you're a killer, I don't see a reason to stay there [prison]. I never hurt anyone but myself."

The Mean Girls star is set to attempt to revive her acting career playing Kim Gotti, the wife of John Gotti Jr, in mob boss movie Gotti: In The Shadow Of My Father.

Lindsay said: "In October, I'll begin work. I hope to spend next year on set."
